Contemplative Hiking Retreat

2025

1st Cohort: July 12-16

2nd Cohort: July 19-24

Join Vivid Void and me as we dive into wilderness immersion combined with contemplative practice.

This will be a thru-hike of a loop trail in NW Colorado, conducted alternately in silence and speaking, motion and stillness, solitude and community. We expect, though this may vary depending on pace, to hike ~4 hours each day as formal, silent walking practice in addition to morning and evening meditation. No prior experience is necessary, though recommended, but you must be fit enough to hike occasionally difficult terrain for the duration. Weather at the time is usually fair, but we’ll be prepared if not.

Food will be provided, though you will need to bring your own hiking gear, including:

  • Boots

  • Backpack

  • Sleeping gear

  • Water bottles

  • Water purification (we’ll have tablets/iodine but we encourage you to also bring your own)

  • Poncho

A rough schedule for our full days:

6 am wakeup

  • Formal Movement practice (45-60m)

  • Breakfast

  • Formal Meditation (60m)

  • Strike (disassemble camp)

  • Hike (Walking Meditation)

  • Lunch

  • Hike (Walking Meditation)

  • Camp Setup

  • Group Meditation

  • Dinner

  • 1-on-1s / rest / social time

  • Campfire

  • Sleep

We have capacity for 15 participants. Each ticket is $750 USD, or $1000 USD for those who wish to support our offering of several scholarship tickets.

If you’re interested in attending, please fill out the form below and we’ll be in touch. Include in a few sentences why you’d like to come on the retreat and what your practice background is. In addition to the fitness requirement, we also request that you not join if in the midst of significant life-crisis or disruption, which is more than we’ll be able to support during the retreat.
